Looking for boxes

We took the plunge and signed a lease for a new apartment today. As wonderful as our current apartment is and as grateful as we are to have found it, it is lacking in some important areas. So we finally found a new place that we love! And it is a lot closer to school for Peter which will be a huge blessing. I don't know if its because I move all the time but I absolutley love packing and moving. Weird I know. I love organizing everything and sorting through things we don't need anymore. And then deciding how our furniture is going to be arranged, reorganizing everything and redecorating. Its a lot of work though and I have never moved with a baby before so it will be interesting to see how that goes.

I also get to buy my plane ticket to go visit my family in MN today. I am so excited. My brother and Lyden have not met Quinn yet so I am eager for them to do so. Though David claims that he "doesn't ever get excited" I think secretly he might be slightly interested to see his new nephew and big sister. Any tips for taking a baby on the plane? I keep thinking about all the stuff I am going to need to pack: Boppy, playmat, toys, diapers and wipes, bath seat and clothes to name a few. And I have to fit it all into one suitcase and a carry-on because now you have to pay to check any bags. So silly! I also have to figure out what to do with the carseat and stroller....any advice on that front? It will be a good trip. Hopefully Peter doesn't get too lonely. I'll be back just in time for finals and then the first year of law school will be over. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. This time last year I was planning to keep attending UVSC and to finish up the nursing program there. Now I am in CT with a baby and a husband in law school. Life definitely changes fast but I love every minute of it.

Quinn had a doctors apointment two weeks ago. He weighed in at 12lbs 12 oz and is 23inches long. He had to get his two month shots. The look on his face was almost unbearable. He had a rough few days after that but is now doing a lot better. The past couple of weeks his teething has really kicked up a notch and he has had quite a few rough days. Oddly enough the teeth we could see poking through seemed to have given up and retreated a little. No wonder Quinn has been in pain. I never realized how much babies go through: being born, for some circumcision, being so helpless, teething, having parents who have no idea what they are doing...what troopers!

10 weeks

Our little one is 10 weeks old! Time is flying by and we are loving every minute of it. Our sweet friend JoDee took these pictures when Quinn was 6 days old. With a two year old and a newborn of her own I'm impressed that she was able to find the time to do these for us but I am so glad because they turned out wonderfully. We got them back a couple of weeks ago which was great timing because we were able to look back and remember those first days with our son.

1st Tooth

Our little man has his first tooth! Well its more of a bump since it hasn't cut yet, but we can definitely see it. Its a little nuts how fast he is maturing. It makes me a little sad but I also love seeing how much he is learning and growing. Here are some more pictures for all those grandparents out there. Our apartment gets a little chilly since it is an older apartment and we get a lot of drafts coming through the windows and doors. Its not that bad but we like to make sure Quinn stays warm. As a result we get to dress him in embarrasing outfits like this one. I think he looks sweet.
My mum keeps telling me there are no pictures of me with the baby. Probably because I don't feel that I am that photogenic. But I sucked up my pride and as a result I am posting this one, just for Gramma Jen.

Quinn loves his bear spencer and always gets big smiles on his face when he sees him. I love that he is now more aware of whats going on around him and recognizes things such as a bear or rattle.

Quinn's room...yay its finally done! I really wanted to make his room, feel like a little boy's room. Since half the room is an office, the walls are plaster and we didn't want to paint since we will be moving soon I was at a loss as to what to do. I was perusing Michaels and came across these blank wooden cutouts. I bought some paint and this is what I came up with. Thank goodness babies can't tell a good artist from a bad one.

After a busy day of reading, shaking rattles, playing on his tummy and rocking out to primary songs our cute little moose is tuckered out

Cleaning phenomenon

I'm exhausted! I spent all day cleaning, and now my house is twice as messy as when I started. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? oh well, I'm calling it quits and getting some sleep. There is always tomorrow right?
